_______________TEAMSTERS SHOOT THEMSELVES IN THE FOOT BY DAVID CORN (10/8/97)

I think Mr. Corn has missed the real irony of "shooting yourself in the foot." The Teamsters Union beat up on a truly pro-union company, UPS. They won and now business is leaving UPS for non-union companies (e.g. FedEx). This must count as the ultimate long-term "shooting yourself in the foot." The union won, but now they have less jobs and the non-union shops will have more jobs. Stupidity will cause the demise of the unions in this competitive, global economy.
