Crawling to the U.S.A.

for the kinds of reasons only record company executives ever understand, CBS insisted that Elvis alter the lineup of "This Year's Model" for its U.S. release, dropping two of its most important tracks, "I Don't Want to Go to Chelsea" -- which had already been a hit in Britain -- and "Night Rally," and replacing them with the anti-commercial-radio anthem "Radio, Radio," which Elvis had wanted released as a stand-alone single.

The excellent Ryko reissue of the album includes all three tracks, as well as several others that are an essential part of the "This Year's Model" sound -- especially the anguished "Big Tears," a B-side fueled by extra layers of distortion courtesy of the Clash's Mick Jones.
